Describe one experience you’ve had where you took a huge leap of faith.

I’m really a fraidy-cat but I often put myself in situations where I am afraid of so I can look back someday and be proud of myself. As I am really a family orientated person it was a huge step for me to move to Cologne when I was 18 because I knew nobody there and was totally on my own. But looking back this was really the best decision ever.

If you got stuck in the elevator and was forced to listen to only one song which one would it be?

That is so difficult because there are so many great songs. I think I would go with Where Is The Love from Black Eyed Peas.

What is your secret skill?

I’m probably the biggest fan on earth of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Give me a five second sequence of any episode and can tell you what season, what episode, how the episode is named in German and how in English. I know it’s not useful at all but I would really call it my secret skill.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?

Lip balm, a snickers and Tom Hanks. Just think of Cast Away.

What is the one piece of advice you would give others about life?

It’s a German phrase: Nur Mut, alles wird gut, which means something like „be brave, everything’s gonna be fine”. It was written on the packaging of some chocolate my boyfriend gave to me at the airport before I came here and it really helps to keep in mind that every struggle is just a matter of time and that you just need to have the courage to do things so that you can be proud of yourself afterwards.
